Description
Teams allows you to add Apps which may enhance your Teams experience. Microsoft has provided many Apps which integrate with Microsoft software and services. For example you can add the Planner app to quickly view the plans and tasks you have in the Microsoft Planner app. There are also many third-party apps available. Santa Fe College ITS has already made some of these available to add, like TDX for help desk tickets, or Adobe Acrobat. Microsoft updates the list of available apps and they may change on a regular basis. If there is an app you would like to add, you will need to request to add it. The ITS department will get your request and verify the app meets the security and usage guidelines of the college. If you open a ticket, you will get a response on whether your request is approved or not.
Process
When you open Teams, you will see an icon for Apps at the bottom of the left side menu.

When you click on it, you will be able to search for apps or select a category to browse.

When you find the app you want to add, click the Add button

A new window with details of the app will open. If the app has already been approved you will see an Add button.

If the app has not yet been approved you will see a button saying Request approval.

If you click on the button, you will be taken to the ticketing system to request approval to add the software to Teams.
If you do not submit a ticket ITS will not be notified, and it may take a longer time for the request to be discovered and evaluated. Also, ITS may not inform you when the app is approved or not. It is best to submit a ticket so that the ITS technicians are notified, and they will be able to easily update you on the status of the request. If there is a problem submitting the ticket, you can open a new ticket by going to the app request and clicking the Get Details button.

Once ITS approves the app and makes it available, you will need to go back to Teams and find the app. The button will have changed to just Add. Click the Add button.

You should get response that your app has been added successfully, and you will be presented with options to use the app. If you want to access it later, you may need to wait a few minutes, or close and re-open Teams for it to show up in your apps.
