Setting an Out-of-Office or Extended Absence Voicemail Greeting
Everyone has a pre configured "Out-of-office" greeting that says "<Your name> is currently out of office and may take longer than usual to respond. Please leave a message and they will get back to you as soon as possible"
To enable the above message to play whenever calls to you go to voicemail you must first turn on "Automatic Replies" via Teams or Outlook
Enabling your out-of-office Voicemail (and automatic email replies):
Click your profile icon in the top right and then click "Set status message"
At the bottom of the "Status message" screen, click "Schedule out of office"
On the next screen you will see settings that look very much like Outlook's "Automatic Replies" tab. That's because it has the exact same function.
To enable your Out-of-office voicemail, the toggle switch at the top right
must
be set to "On"
The text boxes are for out-of-office messages from your email.
These messages do not change what your out-of-office voicemail says, only your email replies.
You may also schedule out of office time by checking the "Send replies only during a time period" which will then bring up start and end date fields for you to fill out
Changing your out-of-office voicemail:
On the Teams app press CTRL+, (comma) to access the settings menu
When in the settings menu, select "Calls" from the lefthand navigation menu
To record a voice greeting, click "Record a greeting" and then press 2 on the dialpad to record your "away" message
Recording a voice greeting will override your text-to-speech greeting until it is removed
To edit your text-to-speech greeting, edit the text under "Your custom greeting" in "Manage out-of-office voicemail"
Also, be sure that "When Outlook automatic replies are on" is checked
